Biography Jewelry
Lorena Lacayo, of Costa Rican descent, grew up in Los Angeles and Hawaii. She has raised three daughters in Tampa, Florida and now spends most of her time in the mountains of southern Colorado where she creates her very unique artistic jewelry. The work has been inspired by her travels through the African continent and Southeast Asia. This indigenous style is composed primarily of natural elements found in these regions. Snake vertebrae, trade beads, unpolished turquoise and jade, indigenous amulets, bone and coins are materials found in her pieces of adornment. Lorena’s vision to create original jewelry has been one of love and generosity of spirit.
